TAPRON SPRINGS, FLORIDA
The Hellas Softball Women’s National Team program concluded its annual winter training camp in Tarpon Springs, FL, held from December 27-30.
Directed by national team head coach Tony Foti and his staff, and under the watchful eye of board members Harito Milonopoulos and George Polydoros, the camp saw experienced current senior team players attend, U18/16 athletes participate, and several new prospects participated in their first camp. The camp saw the athletes coached in new techniques and participate in live game situations.
The Hellas Softball winter camp is used as an ongoing player identification, development, and evaluation event in assisting the federation and coaches in selecting rosters for future events.
“This camp allows us to continue to work with current national team athletes as well as evaluate new incoming prospects. This camp is invaluable for our program. To expose the younger athletes to training with international-level teammates with a focus on playing for Greece. What unites these athletes is not their colleagues or friends, but rather it’s their DNA. ”
The Hellas Softball Federation would like to thank the city of Tarpon Springs for its commitment to our program and assistance. Thank you to Mayor Costa Vatikiotis, City Commissioner Panagiotis Kollias, the Tarpon Springs Little League Board member Sofia Zaronias, and City of Tarpon Springs Executive Assistant Sherri Jacobs.
