The Greek Softball Federation (GSF) is a volunteer-based non-profit organization founded in 1997 for the purpose of developing, promoting and organizing the sport of Softball in Greece. GSF is a member of the European (ESF) and International (ISF) Softball Federations.
Softball was an Olympic sport from 1996-2008 and Greece hosted the 2004 Athens Summer Olympic Games. After the 2008 Beijing Olympic Summer Games, sadly both Softball and Baseball were voted out of the Olympic Games. GSF strongly anticipates reinstatement of Softball – along with a growing international movement – in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Summer Games. With this in mind, we are actively engaged in the development of our talented native Greek Softball players and support of Greek heritage players from Canada and the United States. This is an incredibly exciting initiative and we look forward to bringing together qualified and deserving teams to compete for Greece.
GSF has over 1000 registered athletes in 16 active softball clubs throughout Greece and has been represented in a number of international competitions with great success in National Team and Club Tournaments.
